Mike Shabb — Sewaside IV

Mike Shabb — Sewaside IV
Shabb produced all of it himself. Twenty-one tracks, forty-nine minutes, out August 21 on Blk Music, and the average song runs two minutes and twenty seconds. This is the fourth Sewaside since 2016 and the first where the jazz-rap sampling tightens instead of thinning; the dancehall running under "Tell Em Again" is the part his peers cannot copy, because he engineers his own records. ANKHLEJOHN and MIKE turn up. The cover answers KMD's Black Bastards, which tells you what he thinks he is making. Thirty-four user ratings on Album of the Year and no critic score at all: the room has not arrived.

BENCHMARK IN THE 50 · Chris Crack — the same prolific, self-produced, get-in-get-out discipline; Shabb is the more musical of the two right now
