Street Boy — Hemiogenic Studios
Two brothers, Akeem and Tyreik Pennicooke, building an open world out of Port Antonio — the parish they are from. Unreal Engine 5, sixteen players, and a map made of the back roads and coastline of Portland rather than a generic island. The detail that decides it: the dialogue is in Patois, the folklore is Rolling Calf and River Mumma rather than generic obeah set dressing, and vehicles are earned through a landmark hunt across Hope Bay instead of sold. There is a non-lethal path through the whole thing — missions completed by influence and community standing, not body count, which quietly refuses the only template the industry has ever offered a Caribbean setting. Private demo since March, still pre-launch, no publisher, wishlist-stage heat. The idea traces to a 2017 Jamaican documentary the brothers watched. Nine years later they are shipping it themselves.
