Onyeka Igwe — Short Films

Seven films, 2015–2025, on the Criterion Channel this month — a British-Nigerian artist working the colonial film record from the inside. a so-called archive conjures the images Britain didn't keep; A Radical Duet re-stages 1940s anticolonial London as fiction. Igwe doesn't restore the archive, she cross-examines it. A retrospective this coherent landing on a prestige platform with this little chatter is the whole reason the board exists.
