Third LP, and the pattern is set now: a Milwaukee soul singer who names his albums after the actual geography of his family's story — this one named for his ancestors' Louisiana hometown — and treats each record as a documented stretch of healing rather than a moodboard. D'Angelo and Maxwell are the obvious reference points, but the discipline is his own. Nobody's playing this loud yet — that's the find.
