BEYOND THE STREETS Paris

BEYOND THE STREETS Paris
The archival job is done properly here: 3,600 square meters of the Grande Halle de la Villette, more than 100 artists, and ephemera that has spent decades in boxes, running from Futura 2000 and Barry McGee to Vhils and Felipe Pantone. Entry starts at €20 and the exit is a shop assembled with Sarah Andelman. The Paris run closes this month. Attention has concentrated on the survey rather than the practice: fifty years of a discipline gets a ticketed hall, while the writers still working get a wall and a tag on someone's feed. Come back when that same square footage goes to a living crew with a commissioning budget.
