Andrea Ferro — Dakar's Bubble Houses

Dakar once held the world's largest cluster of Airform domes — 1,200 sprayed-concrete bubbles built fast and cheap under late-colonial housing pressure, bioclimatic before the word sold. Fewer than 100 remain. Ferro, an architect who left architecture for a camera, spent months in Ouakam shooting them as they stand: absorbed into new builds, half-demolished, still occupied. No nostalgia filter. He photographs the boy at the window, not the dome.
